The week it was – let’s start hot July!

01.07.23. Meeting International de Troyes (F) – quite windy weather conditions

Very good second place for Giulia Aprile (IT) in the 1500m race, but not the time she expected (4.12).

Shy comeback from Oussama Lonneux (BEL) after almost two years without 1500m race: 3.52 in B-race.

Finally a good opener from Mohad Adbikadar Sheik Ali (IT) in the very nervous A-race: 3.37’56 season best, 7th place.

High jumper Saad Hammouda (MAR) struggled with the wind and stopped at 2m08.

05.07.23. Braga International Meeting (POR)

Steepler Clément Deflandre (BEL) had a very good run until two laps to go, as he hardly hit the steeple barrier and lost his rhythm. Finishing on a painful knee, he still made it on 5th place with 8.44

Take care men!

07.07.23. Silver Label Meeting Sotteville (F)

To start a successful WE, Vera Hoffmann (LUX) run another top meeting on a good 4th position with 4’10. Big thankx to Czech pacemaker Kimberley Ficenec (picture above)

It was a day off for Italian Joao Bussotti (12th with 3.44). This can happen!

08.07.23. Flanders Cup Kortrijk (BEL) – Bronze label meeting

Next PB and U20 EC qualifier for youngster Régis Thibert (BEL) over 1500m: 3.44’40 and a win in the B-heat. Now he can chose between the 1500, the 3000 or the 5000m at European U20 championships in Jerusalem! Luxury problem:-)

08.07.23. German championships – Kassel (GER)

Steeple runner Velten Schneider ensured a high pace in the 3000m steeple race. Even if he was not reward with a medal, he was reward with a very nice personal best of 8.27’72!

Very well done Velten!!

08.07.23. Meeting national de l’Est Lyonnais (F)

Finally he took his 5 years old PB down! Mohad Abdikadar Sheik Ali (IT) surprised with a fast (but expected) 3.35’21 on 4th position (picture below).

Oussama Lonneux (BEL) also started feeling much better: next step forward with 3.46

Federica Zanne (IT): only one week after her good 9.10 PB over 3000m in Nembro (IT), she was not yet fresh enough for her second sub16 over 5000m, but still came 4th with 16.16

09.07.23. Luxembourgian championships

Next impressive move from Vera Hoffmann: a easy win with strong 4.08’58, pushing the last part of the race alone against the watch! With that result and the championship bonus, Vera could collect a lot of precious points already in the Paris’24 Olympic qualification window.

10.07.23. The classic – Tessenderlo (BEL)

Last but not least, a look on the road: marathoner Astrid Verhoeven won the 10K Classic in her flamish home region with a road PB of 35.14
