Background and Career HIGHLIGHTS

Dorian started athletics at the age of 6 in his lifelong club, CABW in Nivelles (B). In his early years, he had the opportunity to develop himself by practicing all the disciplines of athletics.

At the age of 12, Dorian moved to middle-distance running. He obtained his first Belgian championship titles in U14 (1500m, cross country) in 2012, before repeating them 2 years later as a U16 (3000m, cross country) under the guidance of his former coach, Fernand Brasseur.

In 2014, Dorian experienced his first selection for the national team (EC U18 Baku) before participating in the EC cross country as a junior runner the following year. During this period, he climbed several times on the national and regional podiums.

He had his best results in the European Championships U23 between 2017 and 2019 by finishing twice 14th at the EC cross country, as well as 12th of the EC U23 over 10.000m in 2019. Since 2019, Dorian is coached by Tim Moriau in the “Runners’lab Athletics Team” where he enjoy running alongside many top Belgian and European athletes (a.o. Isaac Kimeli, Richard Ringer, Hugo Hay,…).

Since 2020, he made the choice to progressively switch to the road, half-marathon and marathon with the ultimate goal of participating in the Olympic Games in 2028. Since then, he has achieved times of 28’34 for the 10km, 61’25 for the half-marathon and 2h18’00 for his marathon debut (with a very difficult end of race…). He also obtained his best result on the national level in cross country, in particular by winning the bronze medal at the Belgian national championships in 2022 (long distance). In 2023 he won the Belgian national championships 10km road race, followed by the half-marathon titel in 2024 with a new PB of 61’25 wish qualified him for the European championships in Rome 2024 where he placed on a solid 23th position.
