Saturday night fever for a couple of runners:
Vera Hoffmann from Luxembourg again with a very impressive result at the “Trond Mohn Games” in Bergen, Norway: only 0.20 sec. behind her PB from 6 days ago (4.08’03) she made it again on the podium – position 2 in a strong international field – of this Silver Label Meeting from the World Athletics Continental Tour. The road to Budapest is slowly but surely paving for Vera!
The other woman in shape is Italian distance runner Elisa Palmero! Many athletes from the team tried, but only Elisa made it tonight to the European 10.000m Cup in Pacé, France. In addition, she was once again reward with a new PB in her only second 10000m track race: 33.02 and 12th position in Europe / 4th Nation with team Italy!
Polish marathoner Arkadiusz Gardzielewski also run his third race in 3 weeks, but on the road: after a surprisingly good 64.18 with his current reduced training load and a 29.14 last week over 10K, he clocked a 65’40 half-marathon tonight in České Budějovice (Budweis) to finish on 4th position of this RunCzech event.
The youngsters from team Herve also rocked again the track tonight at Flander’s Cup Antwerpen: the two U20 runners Régis Thibert (3.46’14) and training mate Simon Jeukenne (3.46’94) won it over 1500m! Steepler Clément Deflandre run his first sub 3.50 over his shortest race distance (3.49’09 PB). While Arnaud Collard came runner-up in the 5000m with 14.20.
Only little drop of bitterness tonight at 10km road race in Abbeville, France, where Hanna Vandenbussche had an issue in the start zone, went out pretty too fast and could not show what is really in her tank after the euphoric win last Sunday at Belgians biggest road race – the 20km of Brussels.
Keep on running guys!
